Co-Ed Recreational Team (CORT)
In its efforts to be the most inclusive club in the SCP community, the Softball Board initiated a new program in the Spring of 2023. Officially referred to as the Co-Ed Recreational Team (or CORT for short), this program is geared towards brand-new residents or existing SCP residents that want to try their hand at playing softball without making the commitment to our competitive league play.
Key components of the program:
- Have fun!
- Make new friends
- Excercise
- Not as physically demanding or competitive as our regular leagues
- Personal and group instruction
- 2-3 practices per week approximately 1 to 1 ½ hours in duration
- Periodic scrimmage games
- Opportunities to play different positions
You can join the program at any time during the year regardless of the competitive league schedules. There is no commitment to remain in the program if you decide softball isn’t your thing or the physical requirements are beyond your abilities.
Membership in the SCP Softball Club is required. Annual dues are $10. You can download an application form our home page.
For more information, email the coordinator of our CORT program, Bob Crane.
NOTE: new residents who are already experienced players will have their skill level evaluated before participation in the CORT program is allowed.
